Privacy Policy
Short version. This is a personal portfolio. It has no accounts, no cookies, no ads and no analytics. The only thing I receive is what you type into the "Ask Nazmul" chat bar or send me by email.
1. Who I am
This website, nazmulhasanrupom.com, is run by Nazmul Hasan Rupom, an AI automation engineer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In this policy "I" and "me" mean Nazmul, and I am the person responsible for any personal data described here. You can reach me at [email protected].
2. What I collect
Chat messages. If you use the "Ask Nazmul" bar, the text you type is sent to my own automation server (an n8n instance at n8n.nazmulhasanrupom.com) together with a random session ID. The session ID is generated in your browser each time the page loads. It is kept only in memory, not in a cookie or in storage, and it lets the assistant follow a single conversation. Please do not type passwords, payment details, health information or other sensitive data into the chat.
Email. If you write to me, I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
Server logs. The site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare and my own server may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, requested URL and time of request, to deliver the site, keep it secure and block abuse.
Local storage. If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key theme. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time.
I do not collect your name, account details, or location, and I do not ask visitors to register.
3. Cookies and tracking
This site does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Because of that there is no cookie banner.
4. How I use your data
- To answer your chat questions and keep a conversation coherent.
- To reply to your email or discuss a project with you.
- To keep the site and the chat endpoint secure, and to prevent abuse.
- To fix problems and improve the assistant's answers.
I do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for advertising. I do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
5. AI processing
The chat assistant is powered by a large language model. When you send a message, it and the conversation so far may be passed to an AI model provider that I use, in order to generate a reply. Those providers act as processors on my behalf and have their own privacy terms. The assistant can make mistakes, so please verify anything important with me directly.
6. Third-party services
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and can see standard request data.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on the site. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which therefore receives your IP address and browser details.
- Email and social links (Gmail, LinkedIn, Upwork, GitHub) lead to other sites. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this one.
7. How long I keep data
Chat messages and workflow logs are kept only as long as needed to run, debug and improve the assistant, and are then deleted. Emails are kept for as long as the conversation or business relationship lasts, and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless the law requires otherwise or you ask me to delete them sooner. Server logs are kept by the hosting providers for the periods in their own policies.
8. Security
The site and chat endpoint use HTTPS. My tools run on infrastructure I administer, with access limited to me. No system is perfectly secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I take reasonable steps to protect the data I hold.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email me at [email protected]. If you tell me the approximate time of your chat I can look for it, as I do not store anything that identifies you beyond a random session ID and your IP address in server logs.
10. International transfers
I am based in Bangladesh, and the services listed above may process data in other countries, including the United States and the EU. By using the site you understand that your data may be transferred and processed outside your country.
11. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent me information, email me and I will delete it.
12. Changes
I may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
